Total Fire Ban in Haliburton County: Effective noon on Tuesday, August 5, 2025

Effective at noon on Tuesday, Aug 5, 2025, there will be a total fire ban throughout the County of Haliburton, including the townships of Algonquin Highlands, Minden Hills, Highlands East and Dysart et al. This means no outdoor burning any time of day or night.

Bonfires, fireworks, torches and the lighting of charcoal barbecues, as well as any other light sources that use an open flame, are prohibited. Cooking fires are also prohibited. Violating the ban will result in fines. Propane and gas...

Starting November 6, 2024 the mobile unit will be in Haliburton at the A.J. LaRue parking lot from 11am - 3pm every other Wednesday.

Ontario is introducing a new ServiceOntario mobile service centre to provide in-person access to government services in Haliburton.

The mobile service centre will provide convenient local access to services, such as driver and vehicle, health card, Ontario Photo Card and accessible parking permit services, among others.

Notice of Procedural By-Law Amendments

As per Policy No. 24 – Public Notice Policy, notice is hereby being provided that Dysart et al Council, at their regular meeting to be held on June 24, 2025, will be amending the Procedural By-Law to incorporate new mayoral duties and responsibilities in accordance with Part VI.1 of the Municipal Act, 2001 (Strong Mayors Powers).
