Seasonal Septic Inspector

We are hiring one (1) seasonal septic inspector to join our Septic Maintenance Inspection team. The position will be offered from approximately May 6th, 2024 to August 30th, 2024. The hours are Monday-Friday, 8:00-4:30; 40 hours a week. The position will start at $27.59 hourly. 

Our Septic Maintenance Program team consists of our CBO, Septic Maintenance Program Supervisor, Permit Clerk, and 2 Seasonal Septic Inspectors. As 1 of 2 Septic Inspectors, your typical day would include preparing for and completing the days’ scheduled inspections, educating the cottage/homeowner and recording results. Inspectors will also conduct property assessments for lake health, and educate owners on best practices and ways to improve. Must enjoy driving and boating around cottage country.

Familiarity with Sewage System Maintenance Programs, CityView or similar permit software program, Portal system and Electronic Inspections would be an asset.

Although the Municipality offers full training opportunities, preference will be given to candidates with Provincial Qualifications in On-Site Sewage Systems, previous experience in a related field and proven customer service ability.

Parks and Arena Summer Students

The Parks and Recreation Department is looking for two (2) parks and arena students to join our team. The positions will commence in May for approximately 17 weeks. Each position is based on a 40 hour work week and involves variable shifts and weekend work. The positions will start at $19.19 hourly.

The successful candidates will be involved in a diverse range of job activities at various Municipal Parks and the A.J. LaRue Arena/Community Centre. Familiarity with municipal parks and boat launches is an asset. Out in the parks your typical day may include grass cutting and trimming, minor landscaping duties, record keeping, janitorial duties, and some minor repairs of park facilities. At the arena, your duties may include assisting with recreation programs, building maintenance tasks, janitorial duties, and record keeping.

The successful candidates must supply and wear Green patch footwear.
