Walking Wednesday Tour

Due to the wet conditions and the possibility for thunderstorms and further rain tomorrow, the Wednesday Walking Tour to High Falls has been cancelled.  This hike will be rescheduled for another date in October. The Wednesday Walking Tours will meet at the information Caboose at Head Lake tomorrow morning at 9:30 am for a walk in Haliburton Village (weather permitted). On Saturday, September 29 stop in at Head Lake Park for the annual ColourFest Celebration.  Events will take place from 11:00 am – 3:00 pm.  Build a scarecrow for a chance to win prizes, visit the classic car display, take a pontoon boat ride and be sure to enter the pumpkin rolling contest. There will be market vendors, a scavenger hunt and many more activities.  Along Highland Street look to see how many ColourFest Pumpkins you can spot in the store fronts.  Stop for lunch at one of the local restaurants.  See what the ColourFest feature is on the menu....

Drop-in Basketball

                The Municipality of Dysart et al would like to extend a big thank you to basketball enthusiasts Gordon Cochrane and Andy Valickis for volunteering their time and organizing pick-up basketball again this summer. Youth ages 11 – 18 are encouraged to take part in this drop-in program.  The program is offered Wednesdays & Fridays from July 11th – August 17th at the Haliburton Highlands Secondary School Athletic Complex from 5:00 – 7:00 pm. This is a great way to have some fun and exercise!
