Notice to Amend Fee By-Laws - March 2024

Sewage Service Rates By-Law Amendments

Dysart et al Council, at their March 26, 2024 meeting, will be considering changes to By-Law 2023-36, being a by-law to impose fees and charges for the provision of Communal Sewage Services. This amendment will increase the annual Sewage Service Rate from $746.00 to $806.00 per Equivalent Residential Unit (ERU) effective January 1, 2024 and increase the metered Sewage Service Rate from $37.47 to $40.50 per 1,000 gallons effective April 1, 2024.

Comprehensive Fee By-Law Amendments

Council will also be considering changes to By-Law 2023-84, being a by-law to impose fees and charges. The following changes are being proposed:

New Fees:

1. A By-Law Enforcement Re-Inspection Fee - $100 per officer/per hour or part thereof.;
2. Fee for the supply of Smoke and/or CO Alarms to non-compliant buildings - $100 per alarm;
3. Cost recovery for the cleaning, repair or replacement of Fire Department Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) as a result of a response - Full cost recovery; and  
4. A License of Occupation/Encroachment Agreement Fee for Short Term Rentals - $500.

Fee Increases:

1. Memorial Bench and Plaque - Increase to $1850.00 (Previous fee was $1000) 
2. Burning Permits - Increase to $150 (Previous fee was $60)
