ColourFest

Experience fall at its fullest as you take in the activities of the annual ColourFest. Hosted in partnership by the Municipality of Dysart et al and the Haliburton Village BIA, this event has something for everyone!

ColourFest activities

  • Inflatable Games (archery, sticky wall, basketball)
  • Photo booth
  • Vendor market
  • Classic cars by the Haliburton Highlands Time Travellers
  • Face painting by Pockets the Clown
  • Popcorn by the Haliburton District Lions Club
  • Scarecrow Building Contest brought to you by the Haliburton Highlands Museum 
  • Pumpkin Rolling Contest brought you to by the Rotary Club of Haliburton (starts at 2 p.m. on York Street, Haliburton)
Pumpkin Rolling Contest

Take part in the annual ColourFest Pumpkin Rolling Contest brought to you by the Rotary Club of Haliburton!

Register and pick out your pumpkin between 11 a.m. and 1:50 p.m.

Roll starts at 2 p.m. on York Street.

The contest is free to participate in.

The contest is open to all ages and there are prizes for each age category. The age groups are:

  • 5 years old and under
  • 6 to 9 years old
  • 10 to 13 years old
  • 14 years and over/adult
Scarecrow Building Contest

Take part in the annual ColourFest Scarecrow Building Contest brought to you by the Haliburton Highlands Museum!

Build your scarecrow between 11 a.m. and 1:15 p.m.

We will have some decorations/clothing available or you can bring your own – scarecrows must be constructed in the park during ColourFest.

Judging starts at 2:30 pm, don’t miss out – there are great prizes to be won!

This year, the public is going to have the opportunity to be a part of the judging by marking down their favourite scarecrow on a ballet. Winners will be announced after the Pumpkin Rolling Contest.

There are 3 categories for scarecrows:

  1. Mini scarecrow – no larger than 3’ to be made by kids 12 and under (children under 8 can receive help from their family)
  2. Most creative
  3. Most colourful

 

Volunteers Needed!

2 or 4 hour shifts available between 11 a.m. and 3 p.m. Volunteers will be assigned a station which could be assisting with games, food, contests, etc.

Perfect for high school students that need volunteer hours! Or anyone who wants to help make this community event happen.
