Experience fall at it's fullest as you take in the activities of ColourFest. Hosted in partnership between the Municipality of Dysart et al and the Haliburton BIA, this even has something for everyone.
Volunteers Needed
2 or 4 hour shifts available between 11:00 am and 3:00 pm. Volunteers will be assigned a station which could be assisting with games, food, contests, etc.
Perfect for high school students that need volunteer hours! Or anyone who wants to help make this community event happen.

Pumpkin Rolling Contest
Take part in the Haliburton Rotary Club ColourFest pumpkin rolling contest.
Register and pick out your pumpkin between 11:00 am and 1:50 pm. Roll starts at 2:00 pm. The contest is free to participate in. The contest is open to all ages and there are prizes for each age category. The age groups are:
- 5 years old and under
- 6 to 9 years old
- 10 to 13 years old
- 14 years and over/adult
Scarecrow Building Contest
Take part in the Haliburton Highlands Museum Scarecrow building contest.
There are 3 categories for scarecrows:
- Mini scarecrow – no larger than 3’ to be made by kids 12 and under (children under 8 can receive help from their family)
- Most creative
- Most colourful
Build your scarecrow between 11:00 am and 1:15 pm.
We will have some decorations/clothing available or you can bring your own – scarecrows must be constructed in the park during ColourFest. Judging starts at 2:30 pm, don’t miss out – there are great prizes to be won! This year, the public is going to have the opportunity to be apart of the judging by marking down their favourite scarecrow on a ballet. Winners will be announced after the pumpkin rolling contest.
ColourFest is an annual event in the Village of Haliburton.
