The second week of January has seen the pouring of the concrete pad for the ice surface of the A.J. LaRue -Haliburton Arena. Quinan Construction and many sub-trades are working continuously to get this project completed. The concrete requires a thirty day curing time before any chilling can take place to make sure no damage is done during these early stages.
Right now, several trades are working beneath the new stands where two new dressing rooms have been added. This space will also include significant storage for regular user groups of the Arena.
Parks and Recreation staff are working away at improvements to the interior of the lobby. They are also looking after the combination of two former dressing rooms to create a larger accessible change room and washroom/shower facilities.
