Committee of Adjustment

The Municipality of Dysart et al is currently recruiting three members of the public for the Committee of Adjustment, an independent body appointed by Council under authority granted by the Ontario Planning Act that is tasked with making important decision on applications for minor variances from the provisions of the Municipality’s zoning by-law.  

Individuals interested in applying should have a general understanding of planning, the ability to read and understand a zoning by-law and official plan, and an ability to read, review and at times analyze development plans, site plans and architectural plans.

Public members on the Committee of Adjustment are appointed for the four-year term of Council and will receive an allowance of $100/meeting.

Land Division Committee

The Municipality of Dysart et al is currently recruiting one member of the public for the Haliburton County Land Division Committee.

The Land Division Committee meets monthly to consider applications for consent. Consents can include the creation of new lots, boundary adjustments, and easements or rights of way. The Committee also considers applications for validation of title and the cancellation of consents. The Committee is comprised of four appointments with one representative from each local municipality.

Individuals interested in applying should have a general understanding of planning, the ability to read and understand a zoning by-law and official plan, and an ability to read, review and at times analyze development plans, site plans and architectural plans. 

Public members on the Land Division Committee are appointed for the four-year term of Council and will receive an allowance of $80/meeting and mileage.

The Municipality of Dysart et al is currently recruiting for:

Public Works Equipment Operator (Seasonal, Full-time)

Reporting to the Operation Manager the successful applicants primary duties include, but not limited to operations of a sidewalk plow, dump truck (with sander/snowplow), backhoe, loader and grader.  Self-motivated applicants must be able to work outdoors in all weather with minimal supervision.  A valid Ontario ‘A’ or ‘D’ licence (manual) with ‘Z’ endorsement is required along with an acceptable abstract.  Pursuant to CUPE Local #2142 the rate of pay is $26.39 (2026) per hour based on a 40-hour work week. 

Upon final selection, the applicant will be required to provide, at their own expense, a Criminal Record and Judicial Matters check from the Ontario Provincial Police or appropriate police force.
