Significant Weather Event Declaration
Effective March 10, 2026 at 2:00pm
The Municipality of Dysart et al has declared a Significant Weather Event at 2:00pm on March 10, 2026 until further notice due to Freezing Rain.
Up to 20mm of Freeing Rain is forecast for the Haliburton area on Wednesday, March 11. Road users are asked to avoid travel as roadways, parking lots and sidewalks may become icy and hazardous. Service levels may be reduced during the event.
In accordance with the Highway Traffic Act, municipal highways are subject to reduced loading of 5,000 kilograms per axle when signs are on display. Roads are at their weakest during the spring thaw, and vehicles exceeding these weight limits are subject to enforcement by the MTO and/or OPP.
