Starting May 1, 2021, a number of operational changes will take affect at Dysart’s landfills. These changes include:

Garbage

  • Ratepayers with valid landfill identification user cards can drop off up to three (3) bags of garbage in clear bags per week at no cost.
  • Dysart Landfills do NOT accept five (5) cubic yards or more of garbage from industrial, commercial or institutional generators.
  • Dysart Landfills do NOT accept compacted garbage.
  • One-Time Landfill Passes cost $5.00 each and allow the user to drop-off up to three (3) bags of garbage in clear bags, and unlimited recycling sorted in containers and papers.

Construction & Demolition Waste (accepted at Haliburton, Harcourt, West Guilford Landfills only)

  • Dysart Landfills do NOT accept asbestos-containing materials. Users with asbestos-containing materials will need to arrange for disposal at a transfer station or private landfill.
  • Dysart Landfills do NOT accept contaminated soil. Users with contaminated soil will need to arrange for disposal at a private transfer station or private landfill.
  • Dysart Landfills do NOT accept large demolition projects (i.e., complete house or cottage teardowns requiring a Demolition Permit). Users with large demolition projects will need to arrange for disposal at a private transfer station or private landfill.
  • The cost to dispose of construction and demolition waste (including shingles) will be $60.00 per cubic yard. The cost to dispose of construction and demolition waste (including shingles) containing garbage or recycling is $120.00 per cubic yard.
  • The cost to dispose of concrete is $60 a cubic yard.
  • Dysart Landfills do NOT accept concrete with rebar.

Yard Waste (accepted at Haliburton, Harcourt, West Guilford Landfills only):

  • New disposal fees:
    • Bagged yard waste (paper bags only) is $2 per bag.
    • Loose yard waste under 1 cubic yard is $15.
    • Loose yard waste over 1 cubic yard is $30 per cubic yard.
    • Brush remains $50 per cubic yard.
  • Tree stumps not accepted.
  • Yard waste in plastic bags not accepted.
