Shifting Gears: Mountain Biking Festival

Come join in the fun on Saturday, June 21, 2014!  Celebrate the first day of summer by attending the Shifting gears: Mountain Biking Festival.  The agenda for the day is as follows: 10:30 am – 12:30 pm: –      kids’ bike rodeo hosted by the O.P.P.-      FUNtastic bike route for children 12 years of age and under-      Learn to mountain bike (teens)-      Free lunch for all kids and families  participating in the bike safety/FUNtastic 1:00-5:30 p.m.: – Bike shows hosted by Deshano Bike Trials Club – Guided Trail rides at Glebe Park and Sir Sam’s Ski  & Bike Contact Andrea Mueller at or (705) 457-1740 ext. 35 for further information....

July 6th Matt Duchene Day & Dinner!!

Bring the kids and grandkids and come out to Haliburton’s Head Lake Park on Sunday, July 6th as we celebrate the accomplishments of our own Olympic Hockey Gold Medalist, Matt Duchene.   A parade, live music at the new Band Shell by the Maclay Experience, bbq and autograph signings are just part of the fun that is expected. Follow up the afternoon with a great dinner at the Pinestone and hear first hand about the Duchene Family’s recent experiences in Sochi.  Tickets are $50 each and available at the Municipal Office at 135 Maple Avenue.  Funds raised from this event will be contributed to the Canadian Tire Jump Start program, Point in Time and Food for Kids… all great programs supporting children and youth in our community.   If you’d like to make this an outing with your friends or...

Roller Skating and In-Line Skating at the A.J. LaRue Arena

Dust off your roller skates and roller blades and come out the A.J. LaRue Arena!  Take advantage of the smooth concrete floor.  Get some exercise while having fun.  The skate will take place on Thursday, June 12 from 6:00 – 8:30 pm.  Bring your friends and get active!
