OPP Billing Reform will CRUSH the County of Haliburton

The new billing model must be withdrawn and the current deployment model modified to reflect the needs of our communities. THE PROPOSED NEW MODEL TO TAKE EFFECT IN 2015: 1. Will take another $5 million out of the County – without any service increases (from $3.3 million to $8.5 million) 2. Will see tax increases that will result in services and programs being cut: 36% in Algonquin Highlands ($328,000 to $1.6 million)     33% in Dysart ($1.1 million to $2.7 million)     25% in Highlands East ($684,000 to $1.6 million)     20% in Minden Hills ($1.2 million to $2.4 million) 3. Is flawed for the following reasons: No other municipal costs, calculations, grants or funding opportunities are based on a per-household basis. Haliburton Frost Festival 2014
