Family Fun Tobogganing Event!

Bring you whole family out to Glebe Park for a family tobogganing day.  See how many times you can go down the hill or who can travel the furthest.  Stop by the Haliburton Highlands Museum for some hot chocolate and treats.  Take a look at the displays inside the museum.  The event runs from noon-4pm on Saturday, December 28, 2013.  We hope to see you there!  For further information contact Andrea Mueller at (705) 457-1740 or

Create your own bird feeder!

Help attract birds to Head Lake Park.  Create your own bird feeder, learn how to make different types of bird feeders, without peanut butter.  Make a few bird feeders and take one home with you.  The rest we will place around Head Lake Park to help attract more birds to the area.  These sessions will be held on Friday, December 27, 2013 and on Saturday, January 4, 2014 from 10am-noon at the Dysart Branch of the Haliburton County Public Library.  Then on January 11, 2014 join Andrea to help identify the birds at the feeders and attend a presentation about birds with Dan Busby.  For further information contact Andrea Mueller at or (705) 457-1740....

Lately more and more people are learning how to play pickleball and taking an interest in the sport.  Pickleball is a combination of tennis, badminton and table tennis.  It is played on a modified doubles badminton court using a hard paddle (racquet), a lower net and something similar to a wiffle ball. The Municipality of Dysart et al will be hosting a pickleball “try it” day in the New Year for people of all ages and abilities.  In the meantime, why not join the Thursday night pickleball players?  The players meet every Thursday from 7:00pm-9:45pm at Haliburton Highlands High School with the exception of the following dates: Dec. 12, Dec. 26, Jan. 2, March 13 and June 26.  For further information contact Andrea Mueller at (705) 457-1740 or  The...
