The Municipality of Dysart et al COVID 19 Community Recovery Task Force was formed by the Dysart Emergency Control Group to support our community and municipal recovery and relief efforts throughout and following the COVID- 19 pandemic.
“As we continue to work on our pandemic response from a public health and municipal operations perspective, we are already thinking ahead to the economic and social recovery that will be needed in the weeks and months to come.
That’s why it was imperative that we create the Task Force now, in order to gather and provide information to our business and not for profit community to help navigate our pandemic recovery from an economic and cultural standpoint.” said Mayor Andrea Roberts
The Task Force is a collaborative initiative representing local government and representatives from the business and cultural community and is chaired by Deputy Mayor Patrick Kennedy.
Public Task Force members include David O’Brien, Jim Blake and Andrew Hodgson. Each of these people bring unique talents and have a common desire to ensure Dysart makes a full recovery from the effects of the pandemic. Together with Deputy Mayor Patrick Kennedy, Ward Two Councillor Larry Clarke, Mayor Andrea Roberts (ex officio), Dysart CAO Tamara Wilbee, and incumbent Clerk Mallory Bishop, they form the Dysart et al Recovery Task Force.
The Task Force will operate using five pillars:
Communication: ensuring regular current recovery information is provided to our residents
Community: identify community groups and organizations needs and how best the Municipality can assist in their recovery efforts
Economic: focus on business community, the impacts of COVID and specific challenges they face
Financial: focus on Municipal financial impacts and efforts to recover from COVID
Corporate: focus on municipal program delivery impacts, and how we may modify services or programs as a result of lessons learned.
The Task Force may create sector specific Working Groups consistent with its objectives to make recommendations to the Task Force for consideration
The Task Force may make recommendations to Dysart et al Council on how resources can best be utilized in support of the recovery process as well as provide updates to Council on the status of all activities on a regular basis.
“As Chair of the Task Force I believe we have assembled an excellent team of core members who have a diverse background in municipal operations, our arts and cultural community, and the business community as a whole. The Task Force will function not only as a focal point for community driven ideas, input and solutions, but will also be a resource for the community to help navigate the myriad of programs, and assistance available”. Said Deputy Mayor and Chair Patrick Kennedy
