COVID 19 – Impacts on Parks and Recreation Services

During the COVID-19 pandemic and with regard to the Province’s Emergency Declaration, the following measures have been put in place for the Parks and Recreation Department:

*the A.J. LaRue Arena will remain closed until further notice. Arena staff are available to answer phone and e-mail inquiries at 705.457-1740 x. 644,;

*Events and recreation staff are available to answer e-mail inquires at or by phone at 705.457.1740 x. 662;

*The Haliburton Junction Skate Park, basketball courts, baseball diamonds, ball hockey rink, tennis courts, picnic areas, outdoor shelters and park benches are open. Please practice physical distancing and limit group sizes to 5 people or less. Team sports are not allowed;

*All playgrounds, beaches and outdoor fitness equipment are closed until further notice;

*All municipal summer recreation programs have been cancelled;

*Public washrooms will remain open at Head Lake Park, Rotary Beach, West Guilford, Eagle Lake and Haliburton Lake. These facilities receive daily maintenance and cleaning, but please be respectful of the next user and practice proper hygiene.
