Covid-19 Pandemic Update

March 23rd, 2020 at 3:00 p.m. Dysart et al’s Emergency Management Control Group has met again today and will continue to meet regularly to discuss updates and how to mitigate the impacts of the Covid-19 virus on our community. In an effort to ease some of the current strain on our residents, Dysart et al has extended the Interim Tax Bill Due Dates (1st installment due date March 18th / 2nd installment due date April 15th) to April 30, 2020, without penalty or interest.          Dysart et al is closing all outdoor playground and gym equipment, including the Junction Skate Park, in an effort to contain community spread of the virus as this equipment cannot be sanitized between uses and we hope to encourage as much social distancing as possible.  Signs and caution tape will be posted as soon as possible to help...

Covid-19 Pandemic Update

March 20th, 2020 at 3:15 p.m. Dysart et al’s Emergency Management Control Group met again today and have declared a State of Emergency following the Declaration by the Province earlier in the week. Effective Monday, March 23rd, 2020, the West Bay and the Kennisis Lake landfill sites will be closed until further notice.   The other three landfills will continue to operate as normal with the exception of Harcourt that will not be able to take construction materials due to lack of cash alternatives at that site. No cash will be taken in West Guilford or Haliburton, but credit and debit are available in those two locations.   We would really like to encourage people not to bring loads other than regular garbage and recycling to reduce human contact. Covid-19 Dysart et al Municipal Update

March 18, 2020. 2:18 p.m. The Municipality of Dysart et al Emergency Management Control Group has activated its Emergency Operations Centre and has made the decision to close public access to its administrative office at 135 Maple Avenue in Haliburton at 4:30 p.m. today. The Regular Council meeting scheduled for Tuesday, March 24th will continue as planned, but with a very limited agenda and no delegations.   All Committee meetings are being postponed until further notice.  While we have a skeleton crew working in the office, we have as many staff as possible working remotely to increase our social distancing where possible.  Staff are all connected electronically and able to respond via email or by phone to address your concerns in any area including Fire, Roads, Landfills, Museum, Parks and Recreation, Finance, Building, By-Law, Planning and Administration.   Please contact the appropriate staff member as...
