Thanks to everyone for attending the Dysart et al Community Economic Development working session on June 16th at the Haliburton Curling Club.
OMAFRA facilitated this session as we reported back from the April 2nd Economic Development 101 session. Participants broke out into working groups to develop more specific action plans around the themes that were identified at the previous session. Those preliminary themes included culture and recreation, environment and the economy, housing, business retention and expansion and youth retention. At the meeting, a discussion around volunteer capacity also took place.
These sessions are great opportunities to collaborate, network and provide specific input towards the development of specific goals and objectives that will be included in a community based economic development plan. We hope to announce the structure and composition of the economic development committee and subcommittees by August. Stay tuned.
