Dysart Staff go back to HHSS

Last Thursday, a few representatives of Dysart et al went back to school.  Councillor Nancy Wood-Roberts, Director Of Planning and Development Jeff Iles, By-law Enforcment Officer Kristen Boylan and CAO Tamara Wilbee attended Careers Class at HHSS.  Dysart staff and council members have been participating in this program with HHSS for the past eight years and always look forward to the opportunity to speak with local youth about the local opportunities available to work towards careers in Municpal government.   They ask tons of great questions and are really engaged and we never have enough time.    Students were encouraged to reach out to Municpal Staff for opportunities for summer jobs, Coop placements and volunteer work to help develop their resumes and get a foot in the door.   Any students considering a municipal career are encouraged to come in...

Ugly Sweater Run/Walk and Nostalgic Christmas

Jingle all the way and catch the holiday spirit as you set out on your 1.5 or 4 km run/walk on Sunday, November 25, 2018! Prizes to be won! All ages, family and dog friendly. Materials to embellish your sweater will be available prior to the run/walk. Refreshments will be available after the run/walk. Like last year, there will be a fun add-on option for those looking to gain some extra holiday cheer. After the run, kick off the festive season with crafts, treats and celebrations inspired by yesteryear! The Nostalgic Christmas will run until 2:00 pm. Remembrance Day Ceremony

People wishing to attend a Remembrance Day Ceremony in their community can link to the Ontario Site at Remembrance Day Ceremonies .   November 11th, 2018 at 10:00 a.m., the community along with Haliburton Legion Branch 129 will be at the Haliburton Cenotaph for the Ceremony at the intersection of Highland and York Streets.   Please join them in remembering the men and women that served our Country....
