The Dysart et al Emergency Control met again this morning as scheduled.
Just a reminder to the public that we are into spring thaw. If you aren’t typically at your cottage this time of year, you may not realize that this is a normal occurrence as the frost comes out of the ground. Please have patience as the roads crew works to keep up with regular spring time maintenance and recognize that these roads weren’t built for this type of heavy early spring traffic. Our road network is patrolled regularly and staff are aware of potential issues and keep up as quickly as possible given the size of our road network.
In the interest of both sewer system and septic system health, please remember that disposable wipes, paper towels and facial tissues do not go down the toilet ever. They can quickly clog your drainage system and don’t decompose like toilet paper in your septic.
The office remains closed to the public, but staff are all available to respond via email or phone. Please contact the appropriate staff member as listed on our website at www.dysartetal.ca. The phone number for the Administration Office is 705-457-1740.
If you’re running out of ideas to help deal with isolation, follow Dysart et al Recreation at https://www.facebook.com/dysartrecreation/ and the Haliburton Highlands Museum at https://www.facebook.com/HaliburtonMuseum/ for lots of fun and useful tips.
Please remember to wash your hands frequently with soap and water, use delivery options where available, keep in touch with each other without getting physically close, and make the best of this time if you are isolated at home.
Our Emergency Control Group meets again on Monday unless there is a reason to meet over the weekend, and we will provide another update at that time.
