Licensing and By-law Enforcement
The By-law Department has a variety of responsibilities including the enforcement of parking by-laws, animal control by-laws, and any other by-law, which imposes regulations on the general public. The Municipality operates a dog pound to house lost pets. This Department is responsible for this function as well.
Should you want a raffle licence, lottery licence, business licensing, or require any information on selling goods/wares or on gambling, this is the Department you should see.

PLEASE TAKE NOTE:
Property owners and visitors are cautioned to be aware that By-Law 2006-26, s.3. states that: “No person shall park or stand a vehicle in such a manner as to interfere with the movement of traffic, the clearing of snow, or the sanding and maintenance of a highway.” The fine associated with this offence is $200.00 and your vehicle may be towed away. You are urged to ensure that your have your own private parking accessible prior to your arrival.

Designated Disabled Parking
You should be aware that in accordance with the new Municipal Act, 2001 and the Highway Traffic Act c.H.8, the minimum fine for the misuse of a disabled parking permit or a designated disabled parking space is $300.00.
Sign By-law
The sign by-law regulates signs and other advertising devices within the Municipality of Dysart et al. Any sign that is erected or altered in contravention of this by-law shall be removed by the Municipality at the owner’s expense and the person who contravenes is guilty of an offense and upon conviction is liable to a fine under the Provincial Offences Act.
