Landfill Sites
Landfill User Identification Cards Must Be Shown At Landfill Sites
Two free landfill cards are inserted with the final tax bill for each business or assessed parcel of land every two years (2007, 2009, 2011 etc.)
Two free replacement cards can be issued within the two year period if the first set is misplaced.
If additional landfill cards are needed they will be provided at $25.00 per card.
For temporary purposes cards may be obtained by the owners/occupants/tenants by providing a $25.00 deposit, which will be refunded when the card is returned (within 60 days). We require proof of occupancy by way of general knowledge of the location of the property to enable the staff to identify the parcel of land in question.
It is the responsibility of the landlord to provide landfill cards to their tenants.
Transparent bag’s must be used for household garbage.

Scrap TIRES Are Now Accepted FREE!!
Tired of those old tires cluttering up your garage or back yard? Collect them up and bring them in FREE OF CHARGE to the HALIBURTON LANDFILL or HARCOURT LANDFILL only. Any size tire on or off the rim accepted. The Municipality has joined the Used Tires Program through Ontario Tire Stewardship in order to help divert scrap tires away from burning and landfilling to the 3Rs (Reduce, Reuse, Recycle) processing and uses.
Waste Electronics (E-Waste) Recycling
Are used electronics crowding your life?The Haliburton Landfill is now accepting unwanted e-waste FREE OF CHARGE for recycling.The Municipality has joined with the Ontario Electronic Stewardship to keep electronic waste out of our landfills.For more information on the program please visit www.dowhatyoucan.ca. Please refer to the list of e-waste accepted.

Saturday, August 20th, 2011 - 9:00 a.m. to Noon

glues, etc.; Used Motor Oil; Auto and Household Batteries;
Propane Tanks and Cylinders; Cleaners e.g. bleach, oven cleaner, etc.; Aerosol Cans;
Solvents e.g. varsol, paint thinners, etc.; Pesticides and Herbicides; Pool and Photographic
Chemicals; Florescent Light Tubes
