Vote ImageThe Voters’ List is made available for the public to check at the Municipal Office from September 1, 2010 to October 24, 2010 during regular office hours (8:30 a.m. – 4:30 p.m.), Saturday, October 16, 2010 from 9:00 a.m. to 3:00 p.m. and October 25th from 8:30 a.m. until 8:00 p.m.
To assist in ensuring that your Vote-by-Mail Kit is mailed to you, you are asked to confirm that your name and correct mailing address is on the list by attending or calling the Municipal Office.
In the event your name is not on the Voters’ List, you may, upon application (available from download below) add your name to the Voters’ List from September 7, 2010 until the close of voting on October 25, 2010 at 8:00 p.m. The original signed form must be mailed or brought into the Municipal Office. Faxes or e-mails are not accepted.
What You Need To Know About Vote-By-Mail
The Municipality of Dysart et al will again use the alternative voting system “Vote-by-Mail” for the 2010 Municipal Election.
Vote-by-Mail eliminates polling stations, advance pools and proxy voting. It transforms every mailbox into a ballot box. Vote-by-Mail kits will be provided to every person who is a qualified elector on the Voters’ List.
The Voters’ Kit will contain:
  • Voter Declaration Form / Voting Instructions
  • Election Return Envelope (Yellow)
  • Ballot Secrecy Envelope (White)
  • Ballot
Important Dates
If you are an eligible voter you will receive your Vote-by-Mail kit the week of September 27, 2010 and the deadline for your Vote-by-Mail kit to be returned in the mail is October 16, 2010, however, the kit can be hand delivered to the Municipal Office up until 8:00 p.m. on October 25th.
Electors are also encouraged to drop off their ballot envelope at the Municipal Office, 135 Maple Avenue, Haliburton to save the Municipality return postage fees.
A Drop-off and Revision Centre will also be open on Saturday, October 16th to provide assistance to electors from 9:00 a.m. to 3:00 p.m. at the Municipal Office, 135 Maple Avenue, Haliburton. Electors will be required to bring their Vote-by-Mail kit with them.
