Recreation Program Pilot Project

It was recently announced that Dysart et al was succesful in obtaining a two year grant from the Ministry of Tourism, Culture and Sport to undertake a sport and recreation pilot project.  The project will focus on several initiatives including an unstructured, highly accessible, no-cost outdoor recreation program in partnership with the Haliburton County Library through an equipment loan program; an intergenerational Head Lake Trail Walking Program; a structured after-school and summer recreation program in partnership with Point in Time; community wide “Haliburton Try It – Be Active” events and revitalization and promotion of the disc golf course in Head Lake Park.

We are currently in the process of recruiting a part-time coordinator to oversee the pilot project in consultation with a steering committee comprised of partners.  The Coordinator will also develop community consultation opportunities and prepare an asset inventory as a means to coordinate and potentially support community sports and recreation programming.    If you are interested in this employment opportunity, please see the Contract, Property and Employment Opportunities page by clicking the following link:    http://www.dysartetal.ca/portfolio-view/contract-and-employment-opportunities/
