NOTICE OF FEE INCREASES

Council, will be considering proposed amendments to various fees and charges at their meeting on Monday, March 24, 2014.  This will pertain to various administration fees, the Building Permit By-law including a new fee schedule, the Property Standards By-law and the disposal for bulk refuse at municipal landfills will be increasing $5.00 per cubic yard.   Staff reports regarding these various fee increases were reviewed by Council at the February 24th, meeting and are available for viewing on the posted Council agenda on CivicWeb.  Copies of the draft Administration Fee By-law, the Building Permit Fee By-law and the Property Standards By-law are posted on the site under the Administration and Building Department sections....

Recreational opportunities in Dysart et al!

Despite what you may think, spring is just around the corner and with that comes opportunities to get active.  Many of the municipal recreation pilot programs will continue through the spring and summer.  These programs include: urban/Nordic pole walking, walking Wednesdays, Play in the Park, lunchtime walking, and the Point in the Time After School Program.  In addition to these programs there will be special events/days created and new programs (for instance a learn to run clinic, mountain biking festival and a disc golf league to name a few). Many clubs, organizations and summer camps are beginning to accept registration forms for the spring/summer.  On April 1 & 2, 2014 the Haliburton Soccer Club will hold registration in the Haliburton Highlands Secondary School gym foyer.  The registration will take place from 5-7 p.m. both evenings. 2014 Interim tax bills are out

Interim Tax Bills for 2014 have been mailed in early February.  The first installment due date is March 5, 2014 while the second installment due date is April 16, 2014.  If you have not received your tax bill, please contact our office to ensure we have the correct mailing address. Payment can be made by cash, cheque, telephone or internet banking, debit or pre-authorized payment.  If you are paying through internet banking, the “account number” that you enter is the 15 digits that follow the first four digits of “4624” in the roll number....
